Founded by John Tarver in August 1974, Shelby Railroad Service Inc. is a family owned and operated company committed to providing the railroad industry with the highest quality materials and construction services in the mid-south and surrounding areas. Operations manager and vice president Kirk Tarver comes from a long line of railroad professionals dating back to his great grand father John McGinnis who learned his trade on the Illinois Central Railroad back in the early 1920's.

Our company is headquartered in Memphis Tennessee, and consists of administrative offices, a fabrication and repair/service shop and eight acres of storage and warehouse space. All our employees have extensive backgrounds in the railroad industry insuring you will have experienced and confident supervisors on site for all of our projects. Our wealth of knowledge and attention to detail guarantees our clients receive the highest standard of service available. We believe the clients needs are top priority and with the problematic nature of the railroad industry we provide around the clock customer assistance and service.
